Meet Jo – Your Child’s Art Teacher

My Design Timeline - my journey with art from my degree onwards
About Me

Hi, I’m Jo – a qualified UK art teacher with over 25 years of experience in art and design. I originally trained in Interior Design, earning a BA (Hons), before retraining as an art teacher 17 years later.

Since then, I’ve taught KS3, GCSE and A-Level Art in UK secondary schools, holding a PGCE and working with a wide range of creative young people. I relocated to France in 2022, where I now teach online full-time.

Why I Started Arts Instruct

I created Arts Instruct because I saw a gap for young people aged 11–14, students who love art but need structured, inspiring lessons that build real skills (not just crafts). I missed working with young people, and I wanted to offer a flexible, accessible way to learn quality art from anywhere.

Now, I work with students, families, and schools around the world to help children develop confidence, creativity, and technical ability — all while having fun.

“Creativity is a skill your child will carry for life. Let’s help them unlock it.”
